BUT IT WAS NOT. Because at that weight, I felt tired, sluggish, I had acne on my face, and baiscally I was unhappy. I played sports, and I thought that I was heavy because I was muscular, but I decided to try out my own diet, basing my food choices on calorie intake as well as food types, in terms of carbohydrates, fats proteins.
My diet was fun. I did it for about 4 months - I would try new recipies, and mix and match, even though I was lazy at times and ate the same things, because of work, or busy schedule.
I always kept in mind though, that the secret to dieting is not EATING LESS or nothing at all, but EATING PROPERLY. I ate sufficient amounts, I tried not to stay hungry for too long, even though it was tough at the beginning, and I tried to incorporate all of the food groups into my system, because completely eliminating carbohydrates from your diet just makes you grumpy. Plus, when you start eating them again, your body doesn't understand a thing and stores them as fat.
This was in 2005. 5 years later, I have to say that I have maintained the weight off, but I got married, and settled down and as life has passed, I gained a few kilos. So today, I would like to restart my plan, for a few months to get myself on a healthy track again.
Monday May 3rd 2010:
- 3 small melba toast with 1 small teaspoon low-sugar jam
- 1 cup skimmed milk with coffee
Snack: 11 am -> Total Points: 1/2
- half a small apple
- Salad with 1 teaspoon oil (2 point)
- 2/3 cup cottage cheese (3.5 points)
- 20 g Rice Cakes (2 points)
- Coffee (1/2 point)
- Small Apple or half banana
- 200 g boiled fish 4 points
- 1 teaspoon oil (1 point)
- Salad
- Boiled vegetables (zucchini and eggplant)
Try to use olive oil, and 1 teaspoon per meal. You cannot eliminate oil altogether, because it's an important lubricant!! I also eat some rice cakes once in a while, because I cannot NOT eat those lovely carbs!!
I'm going to try to get my husband on this diet...although it will be hard!
Let's see my weight in a month. Right now I weigh about 60 kg. I went to get down to 58.
Do you think I can lose these 2 kilos?
