Fish Meatballs

Hi everyone
It's been a while, just wanted to post a recent photo of me!!
Me in Grottaferrata

Last weekend we went to Grottaferrata for a walk. The weather was quite nice and I hope we can also go to the beach soon. That way I can work on my tan (which I have also been working on in the park)...of course using SPF 50 (La Roche Posay all the way) ahahh.

I've been feeling quite nauseous lately, it's not fun. Since the doctor told me to eat lots of protein, I've been trying to force myself, but it's not easy. The other day I spent 20€ on a nice fish (a SPIGOLA to be exact, which is kind of like a small sea bass that can be found in the Mediterranean sea only...)

Spigola or Branzino

So, the other night I cooked the fish in the oven with some garlic, rosemary and hot pepper, and I almost barfed just from the smell from the oven. May I ask why is it called morning sickness if it was 7.30 pm and I'm 7 months pregnant?

Today, I was feeling much better due to a diet of crackers and soda, so I decided to make "fish patties" in the oven. FORGET CAPITAN HIGHLINER or CAPITAN FINDUS for that matter. CAPITAN MELI's Fish Fingers were awesome!!

Here's my recipie
  • 500 - 800 g white fish de-boned and already cooked (oven-baked or boiled)
  • 1 or 2 slices stale bread, re-animated in water
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g breadcrumbs
  • paprika and salt to taste
  • Olive Oil - 5 tablespoons

De-bone the fish and mash it up in a large bowl with a fork as you would a can of tuna. Crack an egg, mix everything together with your hands, add some salt to taste and paprika and a tablespoon or two of bread crumbs.

Meanwhile, cut up the bread into small tiny pieces and put it in a bowl with some water (1 or 2 tablespoons). Let it re-animate and wring it thouroughly.

In another bowl, mix the remaining breadcrumbs with 2 tablespoons olive oil and some more paprika (if you like things spicy). Make the fish patties with your hands and cover them with the breadcrumbs.  It may be kind of messy but it's worth it in the end.

In a non-stick oven pan, lightly oil the bottom with olive oil. Place the patties in the pan and put in a pre-heated oven at around 180 ° C or 375 °F for about 20 minutes, turning the patties halfway through.

Let me know what you think!!!
Ciao for now

Is Osama still alive? and if so, who cares?

Hi everyone
Just some thoughts about this whole Osama thing. WHO CARES. Why is the media posting pictures of this dead guy on the internet? They are seriously DISGUSTING. Honestly, there are bigger problems we should be thinking about. Like the poor people in Japan who lost their families, their homes, everything. It seems as though we have forgotten about that event. Or in general, we seem to forget about the poor, the sick, the needy.

Jesus, our saviour
Sometimes I think we should just ALL stop and think about our lives:

  • What is the meaning of life?
  • What is our significance on this planet?
I must admit, I am not a perfect Christian, but I think that we can try to be better by following Jesus' teachings. It's hard for us to stop our busy days for just one second, to try not to be mean to that annoying person next to us on the bus and try not giving them a bad look, because maybe they just had a bad day, and of course, that would be too humiliating for us to do that...

If we all just sopped for 1 minute, and tried to be nice to one another, then there would be no hatred...however, this is difficult for humans to achieve, because we are good at categorizing and stereotyping, and this is what causes many problems.

I'm not saying that Osama didn't have to be punished, please don't get me wrong...all I'm saying is that I don't understand why people are posting these fake gross photos of some dead guy on the internet, as if he's the only Taliban in the world?

Oh well
Just a thought

Pre-natal course!!

So today I started my first pre-natal course, I was kind of hesitant to go, but to be honest it was very comforting to talk to other first-time moms and of course the midwife was so much fun.

Pictures of me

Hi everyone
I'm about 24 weeks pregnant now, a little more than half way through the process, and I must say that I feel pretty good about myself! I'm trying to exercise and eat right and do everything for the baby.
We found out that it's a...........BOY!! We are really happy and I'm just kind of nervous about giving birth but I know that I will find the strength (The Big Guy upstairs will give me a hand, I know).
Here are some recent pictures of me:
